Description of Organization:
The Connecticut Society of Genealogists, Inc. (CSG) was founded in 1968 as a non-profit organization to encourage and promote genealogical research and publication, to maintain and elevate genealogical standards and to provide instructional and educational programs and publications. With more than 4,000 members worldwide, CSG is among the largest societies devoted exclusively to U.S. genealogy.

The Society publishes The Connecticut Nutmegger, which is free to CSG members. The Nutmegger contains original articles relevant to New England genealogy, Connecticut vital records, CSGs Ancestry Service, and reviews of genealogical books. The Nutmegger also contains member queries seeking genealogical information.

CSG is a founding member society of the Federation of Genealogical Societies (FGS) and of the New England Regional Genealogical Conference (NERGC). Our ongoing participatoin and support of these organizations demonstrates our continued support of their missions.

Membership Details:
The Connecticut Society of Genealogists is pleased to welcome new members year round. Our society is open to all those interested in genealogy, family and local history, and the preservation of genealogical records for future generations. As a nonprofit organization, CSG relies upon the dues from our membership to fund our publicly accessible genealogy library and the many programs offered each year. While our library holdings, monthly programs, and society publications cover a wide range of American and ethnic genealogy, we have a special strength in all aspects of research pertaining to Connecticut — from the Colonial period to the present.

Membership requires authentication of your identity and acceptance of the Society\'s Code of Ethics. CSG works closely with other organizations throughout the state to ensure that all Connecticut records of interest to genealogists and historians are preserved and made accessible for the future.

Meeting Details:
Library hours of operation are: • Mon-Fri (9:30am - 4:00pm) • Closed Saturday, Sundays and Holidays The CSG library is open to the general public and groups are welcome, but please contact our staff to verify hours or if you are planning to visit with a group.
