Description of Organization:
The Southern California Genealogical Society and Family History Library, is located in Burbank, California. The Library includes over 30,000 volumes of resource materials from every state in the US and many foreign countries. Especially strong are our German, French-Canadian, Cornwall, Pennsylvania, Iowa, Texas, and Revolutionary War collections.
The Society sponsors an annual Family History Writing contest and one of the longest-running genealogy conferences in the western US, the Southern California Genealogy Jamboree.
Special projects include the Kids Genealogy Camp, the 1890 Project to recreate the lost 1890 Census for Los Angeles County, an aggressive program of publishing indexes for LA county records, and several interest groups for DNA, software programs, and ethnicities.

Meeting Details:
The annual Southern California Genealogy Jamboree will be held June 8, 9, and 10 at the Burbank Airport Marriott Hotel in Burbank, California. Special tracks are planned for use of DNA in genealogy; software and web solutions; and a Creole Heritage lecture series. Sunday offers a special one-day Family History Writers Conference. Member discounts are available.
