Description of Organization:
The objectives of this Society are:
1. To promote an interest in Jewish genealogy.
2. To encourage and instruct members in Jewish genealogical research through careful documentation, and to maintain quality genealogical standards.
3. To locate, preserve and index public and private Jewish genealogical records and make such records available to members and the general public.
4. To assist and support any genealogical library in Texas which is open to the public.
5. To publish genealogical and historical information in a regular newsletter or other publications as directed by the membership.
Membership Details:
Individual membership is $18.00/yr. Family membership is $20.00. If you reside over 100 miles from Houston, membership is $12, and for ibraries and societies it is $12. Checks for membership should be made payable to GHJGS (or Greater Houston Jewish Genealogical Society) and should be mailed to the treasurer:
